Metric Definitions

  • Class Count: the number of classes held during the time period
  • Class Status: Values from your member management system.  For classes in the past, if the class Reconciled flag is False, but the class Status is not canceled then the class status is "pending'.
  • Attendance Count: the number of attendees to classes
  • Avg Attendance Per Class: the average number of attendees to a single class
  • Total Class Utilization: The percentage of available class slots that were filled by attendees.  For example, if a class has 10 available slots and 5 people attended, the utilization was 50%. A class with low utilization could be unpopular or in a time slot that is not convenient.
  • Avg Class Utilization: the average class utilization rate across your classes.  This metric more takes into account classes with different capacities; e.g. avoiding large full classes to skew your utilization.
  • Attendance Rate: The percentage of class enrollees who actually attended the class.  For example, if 10 people sign up for the class and 9 attend, the attendance rate is 90%. A low attendance rate could indicate a class is desirable but members have difficulty making it to the class.
A combined example is, Let's say a class has 10 available slots, 5 people sign up, and 5 people attend. That would be a 100% Attendance Rate, but only a 50% utilization rate.
  • % First Time Attendees: The percentage of attendees for which a class attended in the time period was their first class ever attended.
  • % Repeat Attendees: The percentage of attendees for which their first class attended was not in the time period.
